Began in 1997 when a group of health and safety and procurement professionals from across Great Britain worked with the Association of London Government (ALG) to develop CHAS. In 2001 CHAS became a web-based system.

SSAIB is a Security Industry Authority (SIA) approved certification body in respect of the SIA Approved Contractors Scheme.
SSAIB’s schemes comply with all Police policies (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic)
